Shaggy Chic Pet Salon and Spa
Shaggy Chic Salon Policies
Shaggy Chic Spa is dedicated to a safe, natural, and gentle approach to pet grooming. Special attention is given to older pets and any pet with special needs. Your pet's safety is our first priority. We will not perform any grooming procedure that causes pain or a high level of stress that we feel is excessive.
Current Vaccinations/Veterinarian Information: To vaccinate or not is a personal choice of the owner. Further, the staff of Shaggy Chic strongly urges each owner to educate themselves about vaccination protocols and to become an advocate for their pet's health. We do not ask for proof of vaccinations.
Please walk your pet before drop off, and let us know if you need help with clean up. We understand that dogs are dogs, and that accidents happen, but any pet who habitually messes him/herself may need special accomodations and/or handling, requireing additional work for our staff and thus additional charges.
Only products that are safe and effective will be used during the grooming process. We use only the highest quality, professional grade pet products. We will only use an owner-provided shampoo with a prescription from a veterinarian.
It is the owner's responsibility to advise the Shaggy Chic staff of any medical, physical, or emotional issues, any allergies, sensitivities, or pre-existing conditions. These may inclide prior surgeries, hip or joint issues, warts, moles, ear infections, or skin problems. Shaggy Chic and it's staff will not be held liable for any problems arising during the groom from pre-existing conditions. If a pet is found to be aggressive and its' owner has not divulged its' temperament issues, the owner may be held liable for damages should their pet cause harm to a staff member or damages to Shaggy Chic property. This could be up to and including: Medical expenses, lost wages, and compensation for damaged property. Please be honest and open about your pets' issues so our staff can be aware and take proper safety precautions.
Shaggy Chic reserves the right to refuse service to any pet it's staff deems as a danger to itself or others, or if our staff decides that continuing with the grooming process would likely cause physical harm or undue stress to the pet.
Please let us know if your pet has any signs of fleas. Any pet that enters the salon with live fleas must recieve a flea bath to remove all fleas from the pet. Additionally, letting us know ahead of time allows us to take measures to prevent the spread of fleas to other pets.
Pricing varies for each pet and is determined by breed, size, condition of your pet's coat, and behavior. Our pricing menu lists our "starting at prices" to give you a ballpark estimate. Your pet's unique situation will be the final determination for its' grooming price.
Salon hours and availability are determined by the Stylist's schedules. We are a 'by appointment' business. Our Stylists are available in the salon during the time they have appointments booked. Consequently hours of operation will vary on a daily basis. Walk-in and same day appointments are available on a limited basis for an extra fee. It is highly recommended that clients pre-book their grooming appointments to secure the day and time that would best suit their schedules. Ask your Stylist about our 'standing appointment' schedule. Standing appointment clients get preferrential treatment for appointment times.
Matted Coats: If your pet cannot be humanely de-matted, we will consult with you about getting a "smoothie" shave down and starting over. Please keep in mind that a matted coat can cause numerous health conditions including itching, irritation, and skin infections. Removing a heavily matted coat includes risks of nicks, cuts, or abrasions due to warts, moles, and skin folds trapped and hidden in the matts. Heavy matting can also trap moisture near the pet's skin allowing fungus or bacteria to grow causing skin irritations that exist prior to the grooming process. We are not responsible for any pre-existing conditions due to a matted coat.
Accidents: Even though we use extreme caution and care in all situations, possible problems could occur including cuts, nicks, scratches, quicking of nails, etc. In most cases this can happen when a pet is wiggling or moving around. By using our services you agree to NOT talk to your pet or allow it to see you if it is being groomed. Sit quietly, or step outside. An excited pet can be dangerous to continue to work on. If you insist on talking to your pet, or the groomer, we reserve the right to end the grooming session, even if the groom is not completed, and the full grooming price will be charged. Additionally, please refrain from talking to other pets that you may see in the salon. An over-excited pet may cause itself an injury. If an injury is caused by a patron interacting with a pet, that patron will be held responsible for any veterinary expenses that may be required for the pet.
No-Shows & Cancellations: All cancellations must be made at least 24 hours prior to scheduled appointment. Last minute cancellations will be charged ½ the current grooming price, No-Call No-Shows will be charged the full grooming price, added to your next ticket. We understand there may be EMERGENCY situations and will work with you, but not on a continued basis. Please be respectful of our time as we are a by-appointment business, and another client could have taken your appointment if we had known. Note: tardy clients (more than 15 minutes late) will be moved to the end of the work day, or “fit in” during same day at the groomer’s convenience, or re-scheduled if the Groomer's schedule will not allow for completion of the pet. Extra fees may apply.
We appreciate your business and want to accommodate any special request you may have. Your pet is very important to us, so please don't hesitate to ask if you have a special request in mind.
